Managing Stress, Burnout and Secondary Trauma in Staff

(CPD Accredited)

This course is designed to help professionals in children's residential care manage the stress and challenges of working in this field. It will raise awareness of staff's risk factors and provide them with the knowledge and skills to reduce stress, burnout, and secondary trauma.

The one-day course covers a range of topics, including the causes and symptoms of stress, burnout, and secondary trauma, as well as strategies for preventing and managing these challenges. Participants will learn about protective factors that can help reduce the impact of stress, such as self-care, effective communication, and support from others.

The course is recommended for all staff working in children's residential care, but is particularly valuable for new staff, who may be particularly vulnerable to the effects of stress, burnout, and secondary trauma.

By providing staff with the tools and resources to manage stress and prevent burnout, this course can help increase staff retention and improve the quality of care provided to children and young people in residential care.
